CBT in Oakham and Rutland, Stamford and Leicester:

CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is mostly used like a scatter-gun; fire it enough times and you are bound to hit something. However, doing it this way, you can be run around in circles. You are not looking for CBT because you want the experience – you are looking for CBT because you want help with your problem.

My approach to CBT is not to go straight to your problem but to identify the cause of it with a little exploration. Now, instead of trying to deal with the symptoms, we can deal with what actually is giving you your problem. Nearly always, one session of CBT is all you need. This is very focused and goes directly to where it is going to have the desired effect. You can see old habits, realise they are now invalid and discard them, changing your life and allowing yourself to be free.

CBT works not by telling you something, it works by you telling yourself something. My approach is to find the truth, first, so you can’t argue with it. If someone pushes you, you will push back. If you push yourself, with something you have discovered as the truth, there is nothing else you can do but accept it. This is how it can sometimes help with Bipolar Disorder. The basics of CBT are very simple and very powerful. My way of using it is very clean and very tidy. Contact me now and ask about it.
